Cody Walker Joins ROWWJanuary 21, 2014
Fulfilling the legacy of his brother, Paul Walker, the new role will help ROWW continue to assist regions in need
BURBANK, CA – Reach Out WorldWide, a non-profit disaster relief organization founded by actor and philanthropist Paul Walker in 2010, announced today that Cody Walker has joined the organization as ROWW Brand Manager. In light of the untimely loss of his brother in November, Cody decided to lend his skills as a licensed paramedic on ROWW deployments, working with the team to stay true to the organization's mission. As part of his role, Cody will also be responsible for managing partnerships with like-minded brands and individuals to ensure the good will his brother established with ROWW evolves in the years to come.
"First and foremost, my family and I truly appreciate the support we have received during this difficult time," said Cody. "One of the things I always admired about my brother was his genuine desire to help others in need. I am honored to join the ROWW team in fulfilling my brother's legacy and make sure his spirit and mission lives on."
In 2013, ROWW deployed medical and construction specialist teams to assist with disaster relief in Oklahoma, Colorado, Illinois, and most recently, the Philippines. Following ROWW's clean water initiative with Waves for Water, ROWW arranged for a team in the Philippines to deliver supplies where the organization set up a clinic and treated more than 100 people each day. Other relief efforts have included domestic and international support, from Alabama to Indonesia, Chile and Haiti.
"Paul Walker was truly an amazing person and his impact will be forever felt," added Lucas Wimer, ROWW Founding Member. "Paul is the heart and soul of this organization, so having Cody join our team is a natural fit. We know he will help direct ROWW and its initiatives in the best way possible and make us all, including his brother, very proud."
