The massive flooding claimed the lives
of over 1,200 men, women and children.
Thousands of people with their entire lives
swept away by the raging waters left to
rebuild what was remaining of their past lives.
Although Alabama is not new to tornado
activity, this time, it was different.
The devastation from the 7.7 earthquake
and the hundreds of aftershocks was bad enough,
but in late October 2010, a terrifying tsunami
swept through the Mentawai Islands cutting
off relief and aid.
On February 27th, 2010, an 8.8 magnitude
quake hit the coast of Chili, followed by several
tsunamis. Reach Out Worldwide went on its
second mission just a few weeks after its first.
When the 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit a few
miles west of Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, on
January 12, Reach Out Worldwide was born.
